A vanity URL is a short, unique user name. Vanity URLs are easy to remember, read, share and use in marketing documents, on company websites, and business cards.

Instead of having the long default Facebook URL that ends in random numbers that no one can remember, you can choose a short name, suited to your brand and business.

For example, when I set up my new Facebook business page, the randomly assigned number and URL was http://www.facebook.com/pages/Yasmin-Bendror-yMarketingMatters/128432310505075. This is so long and cumbersome to put on marketing documents. I changed it to my current vanity URL, which is yMarketingMatters. So the URL for my Facebook Page is now http://www.facebook.com/yMarketingMatters

Claiming your vanity URL is just as important as choosing the name for your brand or business.
